Employees of the labour protection service of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division together with students of the construction crew "Energet", which is currently working at the branch’s facilities, conducted classes for children in the summer recreation camp "Young Leninist".
The lesson was attended by about 60 children aged 8 to 12 years from different parts of the Smolensk region.
The students of the construction crew explained to the children the rules of behaviour near power facilities, told why it is impossible to approach dangling wires and try to penetrate the territory of transformer substations, recalled the rules for operation of household electrical appliances. Great interest in the children was caused by individual means of protection of the electrician: a helmet, dielectric gloves and boots. In addition, with the help of the "Gosha" simulator, the energy specialists demonstrated the rules for providing first aid for victims with electric shock.
"The lessons on electrical safety are very useful in the life of the younger generation. After this lesson, I can say with confidence that these children have learned simple rules for handling electricity, and this knowledge will help them and their loved ones in the future to protect themselves from an accident," commented the third year student of National Research University "MPEI" in the city of Smolensk Victoria Volodchenkova from the construction crew "Energet".
