During the summer months of 2018, about 400 children of junior and middle school age repeated the electrical safety rules together with employees of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division.
Classes were held in the rest camps and on the school grounds. So, in June, the power engineers visited the children’s health camps "Smena" in Smolensk and "Orlyonok" in Yartsevsky district, the school grounds of the Bogoroditskaya secondary school, the social and recreational centre "Goloyovka" in Roslavlsky district, the sports and recreational site "Sport and Creativity" in Krasninskiy district. In July, thematic classes were held in the children’s health camps "Young Leninets", "Chepchugovo" and "Hope". In August, electrical safety classes will be held for campers of the children’s health camps "Smena", "Prudok" and "Orlyonok".
Classes are conducted in the format of discussions or games, and end with quizzes and thematic questions on knowledge of basic electrical safety rules at home and in the street. In addition, the branch’s specialists tell children about the work of power engineers, protective equipment that are used in daily work, show tools and adaptations, give an opportunity to try on a power engineer’s uniform.
At the end of each lesson, in order to consolidate the knowledge gained, children generally receive useful gifts from power engineers: bookmarks, posters, timetables with electrical safety rules.
Work on the prevention of children’s electric injuries is carried out by power engineers in the framework of the implementation of the comprehensive program "Program to reduce risks of injuries in IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division for 2018-2020". The main goal of such events is the update of children’s knowledge about safe behaviour near energy facilities.
