Construction crew "Phoenix" began work in units of Smolenskenergo

Representatives of the students’ construction crew "Phoenix" started work at facilities of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division. This construction crew consists of 20 students of secondary specialized educational institutions of the region: Vyazma Polytechnic College, Roslavl Multidisciplinary College and Smolensk Polytechnic College. Members of the construction crew "Phoenix" will work in Smolensky, Novoduginsky, Vyazemsky, Temkinsky, Sychevsky, Shumyachsky, Yartsevsky, Erschichsky and Roslavlsky Distribution Zones, as well as in the southern sections of the service of substations and the service of relay protection and automation. For 45 days the students will become electricians for operation of distribution grids, electricians for operation of electricity meters and electricians for repair of switchgear equipment.

Before the commencement of work, all the members of the construction crew were trained in the office of industrial safety and production control of Smolenskenergo in accordance with the standard pre-examination training program. Each student is assigned with a mentor, from the most experienced and respected workers of Smolenskenergo, who during the whole working season will do methodical and practical guidance of the work. In addition, the future power engineers have received and will get the necessary theoretical basis in their educational institutions.

The management of the branch notes that the construction crew movement helps in solving personnel issues, acquiring professional skills. When hiring, priority is given to graduates with work experience in the construction crew. According to the results of the past seasons, in which the students of the specialized university worked, the branch already employed more than a dozen former construction crew members.
