10.07.2018

IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division summed up the results of the contest for the "Best Scientific Project" among scientific works of bachelors and masters in the field of electric power systems and grids of the "Electricity Systems" department of the branch of the National Research University MPEI in the city of Smolensk.

The central contest commission of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division included Deputy Chief Operating Engineer - the head of the high voltage grid department Yury Krivtsov, representatives of the Smolensk Region Department for Energy, Energy Efficiency and Tariff Policy and the management of the MPEI branch in the city of Smolensk.

As a result of the competition, winners and prize winners were determined in several nominations. Among the masters, the first-degree diploma was awarded in the nomination "Best scientific project in the field of technical and organizational measures to reduce electric energy losses in electric grids" to Ivan Chernenkov for the project "Investigation of the influence of voltage asymmetry on electric power losses in 0.4 kV distribution grids". In the nomination "Best scientific project in the field of technical solutions and technologies for power lines, substations, distribution and connection points" diplomas of the 1st degree were received by Denis Gordievsky for study of methods for optimizing technical solutions in the electric power industry and Anna Yakushevskaya for analysis of efficiency of electric grid enterprises using methods of qualimetry. Viktor Drokin became the best in the nomination "Best scientific project in the field of automated control systems, relay protection and automation and AMI" with the project "Failure analysis and methods for increasing the reliability of relay protection devices on a microprocessor-based element base", Elena Prikazchik - in the nomination "Best scientific project in the field of new principles and technical solutions for automated control systems" for study of methods for justifying automation of 10 kV distribution grids.

Among the bachelors diplomas of the second degree were awarded to Svetlana Krivokrysenko, Kirill Svechkin, Ekaterina Bogatko and Ruslan Rusanov in the nomination "Best scientific project in the field of technical solutions and technologies for power lines, substations, distribution and connection points". The best scientific project in the field of automated control systems, relay protection and automation and AMI was the work of Svetlana Petrochenko "Calculation of relay protection of a 110 kV overhead line, taking into account ensuring the dynamic stability of the power system". Also, the second degree diploma was awarded to Ilya Shvets for his scientific work "Development and study of the remote protection algorithm based on the ECRA terminal" and Natalia Fomenkova with her research "Calculation of the electrical part of the CHPP and relay protection of generators" in the nomination "Best scientific project in the field of automated control systems, relay protection and automation and AMI".

The works of the winners of the competition presented new technical solutions and technologies for power lines, substations, distribution and connection points; automated control systems, relay protection and automation devices and AMI; technical and organizational measures to reduce losses of electric energy in electric grids; research and development of principles for normalizing the reliability of distribution electric grids.

The contest for the best scientific project among the final qualification works of bachelors and masters in the field of electric power systems and grids has been held in the branch for several years. The main tasks of the competition are: development of professional competence of graduates, improvement of professionally significant personal qualities of future power engineers, creation of conditions for professional formation and creative self-realization of students. The contest is designed to identify and support the best innovators, talented students who are able not only to develop an innovative idea, but also to offer real steps for its implementation in production.
