More than 300 LED lamps were handed over by Belgorodenergo’s employees to social institutions of the region

29.06.2018

Young specialists of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division held events within the framework of the project "Energy Saving Tips and Cases". During the action, the power engineers handed over 300 LED lamps to social institutions of the region, and reminded adults and children of the need for careful treatment of energy resources.

The project affected seven districts of the region. In addition to the explanatory work, the staff of the branch helped kindergartens and social centres to take a step towards energy saving. To this end, they handed over to heads of social organizations more than 300 LED lamps, having previously specified the need for each in energy-efficient light devices. In the children’s health camp in Alekseevka and the kindergarten of the village of Bykovka in Yakovlevsky district Belgorodenergo’s electricians also helped replace lamps, and in a social hotel for those in need in Valuisky district repaired switches, sockets and part of internal networks.

All the work was preceded by talks about energy efficiency. At meetings in social centres and cultural centres with adults, the branch’s specialists told about costly and non-waste ways of energy saving. For example, monitor the cleanliness of windows and lamp covers in the room, do not put hot food in the fridge, turn off chargers after use - these are methods that do not require investment, most importantly, remember and apply them. The costly ones include replacement of lamps in the house with LED lights, installation of dimmers and motion sensors, heat insulation, purchase of household appliances with energy efficiency class A+ and so on. However, once investing funds, over time, you can get from the use of such methods a tangible economic effect.

With pupils of kindergartens, rehabilitation centres, health camps, representatives of the Youth Council conducted interactive classes in the form of entertaining games and quizzes. Each child received a book "Tips for Energy Saving", bookmarks and vivid memos issued by energy specialists with the basic rules of rational electricity consumption. The children were reminded that energy saving helps not only save the budget, but also to save resources for future generations, to protect the land from the negative impact of the greenhouse effect.

The head of kindergarten No. 8 in Belgorod, Larisa Semenyakina, noted that such events are certainly useful both for the pupils themselves and for the social institution as a whole. "The children learned about the foundations of energy saving lifestyle, the importance of efficient energy consumption, and the kindergarten got some good help for development," she noted.

The power engineers are implementing the social project "Energy Saving Tips and Cases" within the framework of the "Energy Saving and Energy Efficiency Improvement Program of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division for 2018". Employees of the branch issued and presented a new set of printing products designed for a wide audience with useful advice on lean energy attitudes "Energy Saving Tips" and intend to carry out a number of activities aimed at explaining to residents of the region the importance of economical energy consumption.
