20.06.2018

Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division in the summer months continue work on the prevention of electric injuries among children and adolescents

Since the beginning of June, the power engineers have conducted a series of thematic lessons in health and school camps located in Oboyansky, Konyshevsky and Pristensky districts of the Kursk region. More than 200 children aged from 8 to 14 took part in the events.

The employees of the branch once again reminded the children of the rules of conduct near substations and power lines: that it is forbidden to approach power line poles, climb them, do selfies, penetrate into transformer substations, throw inappropriate items onto wires, break insulators, open electrical panels. The story of the specialists was accompanied by the display of thematic videos, posters, warning signs. The children actively answered questions, with interest tried on the basic elements of the equipment of the electrician - a jacket, a helmet, gloves, dielectric boots, practiced the skills of rendering the first medical aid to the victim from the impact of the electric arc on the simulator - the GOSHA dummy.

"The main purpose of such events is to convey in an accessible form to each child an understanding of the threat of electric current to avoid accidents," stressed Victor Sokolov, the deputy chief engineer and head of the industrial safety and production control department of Kurskenergo.

In total, in June-August, Kurskenergo’s specialists plan to conduct about 30 classes in children’s health camps in the Kursk region. More than 1,500 children and adolescents are expected to participate in them.
