18.06.2018

Final competitions of professional skills of crews for repair and maintenance of 0.4-10 kV distribution grids and operating personnel of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division were held at the "Lubnya" training centre in early June 2018. Such events are held annually to improve the professionalism of employees of the branch, check their knowledge, skills and mastery, and correctly and safely conduct work at power facilities.

The competitions consisted of six stages. At the first, with the help of the computer software, there was a qualification test of theoretical knowledge. All members of the crew individually had to answer cards with proposed questions.

During the second phase, the teams were to demonstrate the order and correctness of actions when releasing a victim from the action of electric current on a pole of a 10 kV overhead line without use of special equipment, and also providing the first aid to the victim with a simulation dummy.

At the third stage, the crew was to replace a defective rod insulator on an intermediate reinforced concrete pole of a 10 kV overhead line. During the fourth stage, it was necessary to connect a backup source of electricity to a 0.4 kV overhead line in a 10/0.4 kV package transformer substation. At the fifth stage, the crews performed the primary connection of a residential building from an operating 0.4 kV overhead line with self-insulated wire. At the final stage of the competitions, the participants had to eliminate the fire in a transformer bay of a 10/0.4 kV package transformer substation.

A stubborn struggle among four crews of distribution grids of Smolenskenergo, which won the qualifying competitions in their service areas, revealed the best.

The winner in the competitions was the team of Kholm-Zhirkovsky Distribution Zone, consisting of the master Valery Shalashov, electricians Viktor Zhilyavichyus and Nikolay Soloviev. The second place was occupied by the crew of Smolensky Distribution Zone: the master Maxim Malyshev, electricians - brothers Alexander and Ilya Zalessky. Bronze winners were representatives of Roslavlsky Distribution Zone - the master Gennady Sharapov, electricians Alexey Nenazhenkov and Sergey Oreshkin.
