IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division with the support of the primary trade union organization hosted a chess championship and a personal and team swimming championship. Dozens of amateur athletes from among employees of the branch took part in the competition. Healthy lifestyle and strengthening the corporate spirit of employees - sports events of Tverenergo are traditionally held under these slogans.
The championship in swimming passed in two stages. The participants of the competition had to swim along the lane 25 metres freestyle, after which the teams overcame the same distance, but in the format of a relay race. The team champion was determined by the sum of the places occupied by the teams in both parts of the competition, winners and prize-winners in the personal championship were identified by the best results of the first part of the competition.
"I have been engaged in swimming for a total of three years, having started with a professional coach, literally in three months of tight training, I mastered the crawl technique. At all competitions I treat rivals as to those participants of the competition who can impose a fight, therefore, first of all at the distance I try to fight against myself, if I fight myself, I will fight rivals as well," shared the secret of success Sergey Frolov, a senior master of a section of the power line service of the Torzhok production base. His result in 1 minute and 16 seconds became the best and brought him victory in the competitions. In the team championship the gold went to the Torzhok production base, the second place was occupied by the team of the executive office of Tverenergo, the team of the Tver production base, having overcome the 100m relay race with the result of 1.36 took the honorable third place.
Both experienced chess players and young employees took part in the chess matches, each of the participants tried to win the victory for himself. Having beaten all rivals in the round-robin tournament, the first category engineer of a section of the substation service of the Tver production base Anastasia Bezubova became the winner: "I took part in such competitions for the first time, before that I played chess only in school. Opponents were very worthy, I had a huge fear of losing, but I collected all the will into a fist, and luck was on my side."
At the end of the sports festival, the winners were solemnly announced and awarded with diplomas of appropriate degrees, cups and gifts. The best team athletes on the results of the competition will represent the team of the Tver branch at the Summer Sports Games of IDGC of Centre in Belgorod.
