Smolenskenergo completed preparations for the onset of the fire danger period of 2018

31.05.2018

Preparing for the fire danger season and high temperature period is one of the main tasks of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division. 1 April 2018, in the Smolensk region by Resolution of the Administration of the Smolensk region of 20.03.2018 № 164 the fire danger season was officially declared.

Based on the results of the analysis of the passage of the fire danger periods of previous years, in order to ensure reliable and stable operation of the power grid complex, as well as coordination of the branch’s activities aimed at preventing and eliminating failures, the company’s specialists developed a list of mandatory and additional (taking into account local conditions) activities, ensuring reliable operation of power grid facilities in the fire danger period of 2018.

In all production subdivisions of Smolenskenergo, in the framework of preparation for the fire danger period, planned organizational and technical measures are carried out. To protect equipment of 35-110 kV substations that do not have a continuous concrete fence and are located in zones of fire hazardous areas from grass-root fires, they are plowed along the perimeter with a strip width of at least 2 m. The substation area is carefully cleared of dry grass. Particular attention is paid to inspection, and if necessary, restoration of side guards of oil-filled equipment.

Together with territorial units of the Federal Fire Service of the EMERCOM of Russia in the Smolensk region and local authorities Smolenskenergo conducted fire trainings.

Timely implementation of organizational and technical measures to prepare for the fire danger period will allow the branch to minimize the possibility of emergencies due to fires and outbreaks, or even avoid them altogether.

An important aspect of the implementation of the fire prevention program is the organization of interaction between Smolenskenergo’s specialists and heads of municipalities and managers of agricultural enterprises to conduct explanatory work with the population of the regions on the importance of observing basic fire safety measures in guard zones of power lines and premises of power facilities.

IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division draws attention to the need to comply with fire and electrical safety measures at home, in garden plots, as well as in places of active recreation, and reminds that in case of any fires near and directly at power facilities, it is necessary to report via the toll-free telephone direct line of power engineers at 8-800-50-50-115 (13-50 from fixed telephones).
