Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division completed a set of measures to ensure reliable and uninterrupted operation of the power grid complex in the thunderstorm period of 2018. The list of activities was compiled from the analysis of technological violations of previous years, based on the passage of thunderstorm periods of 2016-17.
The power engineers conducted an inspection of the state of lightning protection devices and means of protection against overvoltage of switchgear of substations, 35-110 kV overhead power lines, 6-10 kV distribution networks. In addition, they performed engineering inspections of all substations of 35-110 kV, oil facilities and antenna-mast structures. The operation of equipment used to record emergency modes was checked.
First responding and repair and maintenance personnel of the branch passed repeated briefings on actions in conditions of thunderstorms and emergency drills to locate faults to power lines and eliminate violations of electricity supply to consumers. The availability of wired, satellite, radio and cellular communication, used for contact with first responding mobile and emergency and restoration crews was also checked.
Timely and complete preparation of the power grid complex of Tambovenergo for the passage of the thunderstorm period will significantly reduce the risk of damage to the electrical equipment in the service area of the branch and ensure reliable and high-quality power supply to consumers of the Tambov region.
