A hundred of Lipetsk energy thieves to go to court

15.05.2018

Only in April, Lipetskenergo compiled 120 acts against owners of private houses.

A resident of the village of Bolshaya Kuzminka in winter heated his home with stolen electricity. He built a house, threw a wire on a power line and thus provided himself with free energy. An electric boiler, refrigerator, TV, lighting - the villager did not pay for any consumed kilowatt. Illegal connection was found by employees of Lipetsky Distribution Zone during a raid. An act on non-contractual consumption of electricity was drawn up. The amount to be paid by the resident of Kuzminki, exceeded 120 thousand rubles.

However, these are not all the troubles that await the energy thieves. Employees of IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division in each case of non-contractual electricity consumption refer to the police. Cases of an administrative offense under Article 7.19 of the Administrative Offences Code of the Russian Federation are initiated: unauthorized connection and use of electric, heat energy, oil or gas, since the beginning of the year. Law enforcement bodies pass documents to the court. Violators of the law are fined from 10 to 15 thousand rubles.

The same punishment awaits the owner of the house in the village of Bilgidino of Dankovsky district. He connected to the electrical network, bypassing the meter. This was found out by employees of Lipetskenergo during a control meter reading. In total, for April, Lipetskenergo stopped the theft of 933,141 kWh of electricity.

"Unauthorized connection to grids does not bring damage only to the grid organization. In such cases, neighbours always suffer: voltage surges, household appliances go out of order, light bulbs burn out. A significant part of the complaints about substandard power supply is due to the fact that someone from people in the street steals. Therefore, if you suddenly have problems with the voltage level, the probability of unauthorized connection to grids is high. In this case, call the round-the-clock direct line at 8 -800-50-50-15 or the short number for fixed phones at 13-50. Lipetskenergo’s employees will necessarily come with a check," said Sergey Vetrov, the head of the department for sale of services of IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division.

In total, since the beginning of the year, the energy company has handed over to the police 560 applications for illegal use of electric energy. The thieving inhabitants of the Lipetsk region paid both fines and bills for light, which, in case of non-contractual and non-metered consumption, exceed the usual payment tenfold.
