Power engineers of Kostromaenergo conducted a tour for students of Kostroma State University

Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division conducted a tour in the executive office for the 1st year students of the Kostroma State University studying at the Institute of Automated Systems and Technologies. The event is aimed at popularization of engineering and working professions among students and the youth.

In the History Museum of the Kostroma energy system, the future specialists were told about the formation and development of the region’s electric grid complex, the main activities of the branch of Kostromaenergo, taking into account the geographic features of the region. Also, the young people were told about the structure of IDGC of Centre and Rosseti.

In the Grid Control Centre (GCC) the students were shown modern equipment, through which the operational staff monitors operation of power facilities in real time, receives data necessary for rapid decision-making in contingencies. In addition, the guests were shown server equipment, which the GCC is equipped with.

An important component of the event was the communication of the first-year students with former students of the Institute of Automated Systems and Technologies, who now work at Kostromaenergo. During the dialogue, the students were told about the prospects of their profession and how they can realize their knowledge after training specifically in the field of electricity.

Similar meetings with students of educational institutions of the region are held regularly. "We have been cooperating with Kostromaenergo for a long time: we opened a joint laboratory, we prepare course and diploma projects," says Vladimir Drozdov, a professor of the Department of Automation and Microprocessor Technology of the Institute of Automated Systems and Technologies. "It is important that from the first courses the guys could be oriented to the future professional sphere of activity. In this we are very helped by young specialists of Kostromaenergo - our graduates and their more experienced colleagues."
