Employees of Kostromaenergo took part in the Victory Day celebration

10.05.2018

IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division solemnly celebrated the 73rd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. According to the established tradition on 9 May, employees of the enterprise with children and veterans of the branch gathered near the building of the executive office of Kostromaenergo. Here for visitors of the holiday an exhibition of military equipment, small arms and melee military weapons was organized. The personal collection of the exhibits was presented by the chief of City Distribution Zone Andrey Shilin, and the deputy head of the security department Vladimir Shukletsov.

Opening the event, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division director Alexander Glebov paid attention to the value of the continuity of generations to preserve the memory of those who gave the country the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. At the solemn meeting, which gathered about one hundred and fifty veterans and working power engineers, war songs and poems were listened to, in which the employees and their children expressed their attitude to the celebration, pride and respect for veterans. Musa Jalil’s poem "Barbarity", read by an engineer of the department of analysis and production management Irina Ryazanova caused tears in the eyes of those present.

After the solemn part the power engineers of different generations could taste delicious war porridge and warm with hot tea. Then they took part in the march of the Immortal Regiment with their families. In one formation, along with tens of thousands of Kostroma citizens, portraits of their relatives, front-line soldiers, passed through streets of the regional centre.

It is worth noting that the Kostroma power engineers of IDGC of Centre, including representatives of the Youth Council and trade union members showed respect to the memory of war heroes already in the pre-holiday events: they visited the veterans at their homes, presenting them with gifts from the branch, put in order the burial of power engineers-participants of the Great Patriotic War. A patriotic event was organized in a memorable place in the settlement of Gubachevo near Kostroma where the power engineers together with the first-year students of Kostroma Energy College (KEC) honoured the memory of fallen residents of Kostroma during the terrible war.

"In Kostromaenergo honouring veterans and workers of the rear of the Great Patriotic War has become a good annual tradition, a symbol of the succession of generations. Such events demonstrate responsible leadership position of the branch in relation to people, who provided energy development in the Kostroma region," stresses the head of the HR department of Kostromaenergo Nadezhda Muravyeva.
