For the 1st quarter of 2018, Smolenskenergo identified 144 cases of unauthorized connections to power grids and interventions in the operation of meters

IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division continues to struggle against the theft of electricity, materials and equipment. Most cases of unauthorized connections to power grids and interference in the operation of metering devices are detected by Smolenskenergo’s employees during the operation of electricity meters, as well as raids to prevent unauthorized connections to distribution networks. In the 1st quarter of 2018, 144 such cases were identified. The largest power theft was recorded during this period at a sawmill in Pochinkovsky district - the amount of damage was 326 thousand rubles, as well as in non-residential premises in the city of Smolensk with the amount of damage - 166 thousand rubles. At present, the employees of the branch are taking measures to recover damages.

According to the results of the work of the security department of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division for the 1st quarter of 2018, 47 cases on administrative violations were initiated by law enforcement agencies, according to which penal sanctions were imposed on 13 guilty persons. The internal affairs bodies, with the direct assistance of the employees of the branch, continue to carry out a set of test operational and investigative measures for another 40 materials, for which the branch has applied to the police.
