IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo division summed up the results of the autumn-winter operation period of 2017-2018. Despite the snowy and cold winter, Voronezh power engineers coped with the task of providing reliable power supply to consumers. Thanks to the good preparation and timely mobilization of forces and resources of the first responding and repair personnel of Voronezhenergo, the situation was always under control. The average duration of interruptions in the electricity supply of consumers during the period of the autumn-winter operation decreased in comparison with the same period of 2016-2017 by 10% and was 1.77 hour.
Successful passage of the winter period of peak loads was facilitated by timely and qualitative execution of the repair program of the branch. Before the autumn-winter operation period, in 2017 Voronezhenergo’s specialists repaired more than 1,350 km of 0.4-110 kV power lines, 8 substations of 35-110 kV were comprehensively repaired, 4 transformers of 35-110 kV and 483 transformer substations of 10/0.4 kV were overhauled.
Particular attention during the implementation of the repair program was paid to clearing and expanding ROWs from tree and shrub vegetation. To prevent disconnections of overhead lines, due to overlapping of shoots and falling trees on wires, more than 1,400 hectares of ROWS along overhead lines were cleared. Another 241 ha of ROWs of overhead lines were extended to the normative value. All these measures significantly reduce the risk of falling trees and branches on wires in spans of power lines, thereby reducing the likelihood of faults in overhead lines.
At present, the electric grid complex in the region is already actively preparing for the next autumn-winter period, while the energy company has taken into account the experience gained last winter. The bulk of the planned work will be completed in September this year. In 2018 Voronezhenergo’s specialists plan to repair more than 1,300 km of 0.4-110 kV overhead lines, perform clearing and expansion from tree and shrub vegetation over 1.5 thousand hectares of ROWs along overhead lines, overhaul 402 package transformer substations of 6-10/0.4 kV, six power transformers of 35-110 kV and 112 power transformers of 6-10 kV. The total amount of funding for the repair program of Voronezhenergo for 2018 will be about 581 million rubles.
