Power engineers from 18 Distribution Zones and the executive office competed for two days in various sports and passed the standards of the GTO (Ready for Labour and Defense).
The grand opening of the summer sports day of IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division was held on 27 April at the "Sokol" sports complex. Welcoming speeches at the opening of the sports days were pronounced by the head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Lipetsk administration Oleg Tokarev and the head of the department for work with subjects of physical culture and sports of the Lipetsk region Sergey Korotin.
"Sports Games reveal not only the strongest and hardiest among power engineers. This is also a huge contribution to the preservation of the traditions of mass sports in general in the Lipetsk region," stressed the head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the Lipetsk administration Oleg Tokarev.
The competitions were held in two stages. The first stage included competitions in table tennis, swimming and chess. In the second stage, Lipetsk power engineers passed the GTO standards and took part in football and volleyball matches.
Among the men at the chessboard, there was no equal to Alexander Shestakov, a master of the warehouse service, and among the women to Larisa Morkovina, an engineer of the production and technical group of Lebedyansky Distribution Zone. The best among the men in table tennis was Vitaly Ustinov, an electrician for operation of electric meters of the 3rd category of Lebedyansky Distribution Zone. Among the women, the first place was taken by Marina Kulikova, a technician of Gryazinsky Distribution Zone. The best swimmers in the category under 35 were the head of the office for sale of services Sergey Vetrov and a technician of Yeletsky Distribution Zone Evgenia Marakhova. In the category after 35, the chief engineer of Dobrovsky Distribution Zone, Sergey Rebrov, and an engineer of the telecommunication operation section, Anna Bezborodova, won the victory. First place in mini-football and volleyball was taken by the team of Lebyadiansky Distribution Zone.
In addition, GTO badges were awarded to the athletes who showed the best results in the last year’s performance of the GTO standards. Director of the branch of Lipetskenergo, Sergey Koval, solemnly handed over the gold GTO badge to an engineer of the Technological Development Office Irina Nikolaeva.
The best athletes were given cups, certificates and memorable prizes. In addition, all participants of the competitions, who showed good results, will go to Belgorod to participate in the large-scale Summer Sports Day of IDGC of Centre. There, Lipetsk power engineers will compete already with athletes from other branches.
"I congratulate all the participants of the Sports Games with the finish of the competitions. You once again proved that you are the real teams not only in work, but also in the sports arena. Thank you for the spectacular football and volleyball matches. The incredible intensity of the struggle did not leave either participants or spectators indifferent. Today we have awarded the winners, but it is very important that there are no losers in our competitions, because we are all a united team of Lipetskenergo," said Sergey Koval, the head of IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division, closing the sports day.
