27.04.2018

IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division summed up the results of work in cold weather after the completion of the most difficult autumn-winter period for power engineers.

The stable operation of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division during the autumn-winter period of 2017-2018 was provided due to the readiness of power equipment and personnel of electric grids to the maximum of loads.

The successful operation through the autumn-winter period is facilitated by timely and qualitative execution of the repair program. The repair program of the branch in 2017 was implemented in full and on schedule. The total cost of repair work amounted to 191.31 million rubles. As a result of the repair program implementation in 2017, 654.77 km of 35-110 kV power transmission lines were repaired. The power engineers repaired 4 substations of 35-110 kV. In addition, 1,497.76 km of 0.4-10 kV lines and 697 transformer substations of 6-10/0.4 kV were repaired.

As part of the implementation of production programs, the branch’s specialists carried out work on clearing 1,377.09 ha and expanding 560 ha of ROWs in the service area of the grid company in the Smolensk region. The implementation of these programs made it possible to provide high-quality and reliable power supply to consumers and reduce the risks of line outages due to falling trees. In addition, it is more convenient to perform work at cleared line ROWs during the operation and maintenance of the line.

Particular attention was paid to personnel and labour protection in preparation for the autumn-winter period. The branch conducted trainings, briefings and exercises taking into account the peculiarities of work in emergency situations in conditions of low temperatures. Crews are provided with inventory, equipment and protective gear. The power engineers conducted joint exercises in the liquidation of emergency situations in electric grids with bodies of civil defense and emergency situations and local self-governments.

The branch was fully provided with an emergency reserve of equipment, spare parts and materials, specialized vehicles, machines and mechanisms for carrying out emergency recovery work during this period.

All these activities provided reliable power supply to the Smolensk region, contributed to the successful operation through the autumn-winter period and allowed to avoid major emergencies.

Increasing the reliability of electricity supply to consumers, enhancing the lifecycle of equipment and reducing the cost of planned work, the branch achieves with the help of modern methods of organization and application of modern technologies, as well as competent work planning.
