Smolenskenergo’s distribution grid operates in normal mode

22.04.2018

Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division, despite difficult weather conditions, restored the power supply to residents of the Smolensk region, powered through the 6-10 kV grid. As for local networks there is still work under customers’ requests.

Please, be reminded that 21 April 2018 thunderstorms passed through the territory of the Smolensk region, there was a strong wind up to 30 m/s. This caused technological failures in the power grid complex. In connection with forecasts on the deterioration of the hydrometeorological situation, by the decision of Smolenskenergo’s Crisis Management Centre from 05:00 pm on 20.04.18 a high alert mode was introduced at facilities of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division, and one day after the confirmation of the forecast from 06:00 pm on 21.04.2018 a special mode of operation was introduced. Power engineers were able to fully mobilize their forces and means. The emergency and restoration work at the peak of outages involved 158 crews of the branch (614 people), using 184 vehicles. Also, 8 crews of power engineers from neighbouring regions and 4 crews of contract organizations were involved.

On 22 April wind gusts persisted, which caused the appearance of new technological violations. With this in mind, Smolenskenergo continues to operate a special mode of work. The specialists of the branch carry out continuous monitoring of the situation and are ready to react promptly to facts of de-energization. The power engineers continue to work until power supply to consumers is completely restored in the 0.4 kV network. All customer requests received by the Contact-Centre of the company and the temporary information centre, deployed today in the branch, will be processed.

IDGC of Centre operates the "straight line" telephone line for power engineers at 8 800 50 50 115 or 13-50 for fixed telephones. Also, residents of the region can find out detailed information about emergency repairs and report violations of electricity supply by phone: +7 915-38-000-38 in Telegram and Viber (all calls are toll-free).
