Power engineers restored power supply in six districts of the Tver region

Specialists of IDGC of Centre have restored the normal operation of the power grid complex in Udomelsky, Torzhoksky, Lesnoy, Kashinsky, Zharkovsky, Krasnokholmsky districts of the Tver region, through which the cyclone in the form of squally winds and precipitation struck the most severe blow.

Emergency and restoration work has been under way in the region for the second day around the clock. To speed up the restoration of power supply in other affected districts of the Upper Volga region by the decision of the management of IDGC of Centre, a grouping of forces and means is being built up.

Together with Tverenergo’s specialists, power engineers of the Smolensk, Bryansk, Lipetsk, Kostroma, Voronezh, Orel, Yaroslavl, Nizhny Novgorod branches of IDGC of Centre and IDGC of Centre and Volga Region are engaged in the elimination of technological failures in the work of the power grid complex. Also, according to the decision of the Headquarters of the power grid complex of PJSC "Rosseti", forces and means of IDGC of North-West, Lenenergo, FGC UES have been involved in the emergency and restoration operations in the Upper Volga region. In total, 215 crews of power engineers are involved in the number of 863 people with 243 vehicles. The specialists continue to work in the main grid of 110-35 kV, as well as in the distribution grid of 10-0.4 kV.

Restoration of power supply in the Tver region is being performed in close cooperation of IDGC of Centre’s staff with the Government of the Tver region, the EMERCOM of Russia for the Tver region, and municipal authorities in the localities.

"The emergency and restoration work is significantly complicated by the inaccessibility of places of damage at the power grid facilities," explained Alexander Chumachenko, First Deputy Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division. "Lengthy sections of damaged power lines were found in the flooding zone in river floodplains and in swampy terrain. To carry out repairs, we use off-road vehicles and boats."
