Lipetskenergo presented its project at the forum "New Energy"

20.04.2018

The energy forum "New Energy" was held on 19 April at the Lipetsk State Technical University. Its purpose is to demonstrate the power potential of the Lipetsk region. Four main directions of the forum’s work were defined: electric power industry, heat power engineering, development of alternative energy, energy saving and energy efficiency. The forum was attended by authorities, IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division, the largest power equipment manufacturers in the world and Russia, whose sites are located in the Lipetsk region, as well as the student and scientific community.

Representatives of IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division told about their project of "digitalization" of grids. Today, the energy company is actively involved in the automation of the region’s electric grid complex. The technologies used in this way allow real-time monitoring of both the grid operation mode, while automating the switching process, and keeping the energy balance for each consumer, while reducing the average duration and frequency of interruptions by 60 and 75 percent, respectively. Usmansky Distribution Zone was chosen as the pilot area for the implementation of this technology.

"IDGC of Centre is now actively implementing new technologies in all its branches. The results of applying IT technologies can be judged today in Dobrovsky district of the Lipetsk region. The implementation of elements of the smart system here reduced the duration of power outages by 75%. The implementation of modern technologies in the reconstruction of the substation "Privokzalnaya" reduced the estimated cost of work by 20%," said Oleg Seredkin, the head of the technological development department of Lipetskenergo, in his report.

The ways to protect digital systems from external attacks, sources of investment and mechanisms for attracting investors are those topics that the forum participants discussed. And it is not by chance that the Lipetsk State Technical University was chosen as the venue for such a large-scale event in the regional energy sector. Future power engineers were able to participate in the discussion on promising areas of the industry development and challenges facing the modern energy sector.

"Time changes approaches to the problems of the energy industry. The main task today is the use of new tools and technologies for development. The energy component is the most expensive in production activity, in utilities. Therefore, it is necessary to achieve its high efficiency, eliminate the conflict of interests between suppliers and consumers of resources. Ahead there is a lot of work, it will be aimed primarily at ensuring the interests of the population," summed up the forum Alexander Narolin, the deputy head of the administration of the Lipetsk region.
