Digitalization of control systems - a priority of Belgorodenergo

19.04.2018

IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division continues work on creation of the main optical transport communication network and data transmission. In the current year, the energy company plans to construct and modernize remote control systems and digital communication channels at 25 power facilities. This will allow specialists of the Grid Control Centre and district dispatch centres to receive real-time information about the state of substation equipment, to perform remote control of switching devices, thereby providing reliable and high-quality power supply to consumers.

Remote control systems will be reconstructed at twelve feeding centres of 35-110 kV. Among them there are the high-voltage substations "Sheino" in Korochansky district, "Nikolskoye" - in Belgorodsky district, "Industrial" and "Rogovatoye" - in Starooskolsky district, "Vatutinskaya" - in Valuisky district.

At 16 substations of 35-110 kV this year, communication channels will be constructed and modernized by building fiber optic lines, installing modern equipment and uninterruptible power supply sources. This will increase the bandwidth and improve the reliability of the communication channels.

The creation of the backbone optical transport and data communication network, which ensures the interaction of all components of the digital network, began in Belgorodenergo in 2000. At present, the length of fiber-optic communication lines is 1,686 km. In addition to the FOCL, for the access to the backbone data transmission network, wireless broadband access technologies, digital HF communication and other modern technologies are used. For operational dispatch communication with crews, digital radio communication is actively implemented.
