18.04.2018

Specialists of the City Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division conducted a tour to the 110/35 kV Substation "Severnaya" for students of the Kostroma Power Engineering College named after F.V. Chizhov (KET), studying in the specialty "Electric stations, grids and systems". The event was organized in the framework of the All-Russian action "Week without Turnstiles", which is aimed at popularization of engineering and working professions among students and young people.

The place of the tour was chosen not by accident: the substation "Severnaya" is an important feeding centre providing power supply to the north-eastern part of Kostroma. Future electricians got acquainted with modern technologies of energy system management, dispatcher organization, and also saw firsthand how the substation equipment works. At the end of the event, they were able to ask questions to the organizers and the staff of the substation.

"I had very bright impressions from visiting the substation "Severnaya"," Danila Chekhov, a 2nd year student, shared his impressions of the tour. "I was convinced that our future profession is responsible and very popular."

Such actions as the "Week without Turnstiles" are very useful. After all, to become a professional in any industry, theoretical knowledge is not enough - you still need to understand how to apply it in practice. Thanks to the employees of Kostromaenergo for the tour, for the fruitful cooperation with our technical school and career-guidance activities," stressed the supervisor of the group, a lecturer of KET Pavel Bolshakov.

Kostromaenergo pays much attention to the training of qualified personnel for the subsequent work at the enterprise. In addition to tours, the power engineers regularly hold Open Doors Days for students, various career-guidance actions and events.
