In 2017 Smolenskenergo’s investments in the development of the power grid complex of the region amounted to 933.619 million rubles

Capital investments of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division in the development of the power grid complex of the region in 2017 amounted to 933.619 million rubles. Of this amount, 531.755 million rubles were allocated to increase the reliability of grids through technical re-equipment and reconstruction, 386.719 million rubles were used for new construction and expansion.

In total, over the past year, 278 km of overhead and cable power lines of various voltage classes and 17 MVA of transformer capacity were put into operation.

39% of all capital investments were directed to work on grid connection of consumers of the "privileged" group with the capacity of connected electrical installations up to 150 kW. The branch’s expenses for this purpose amounted to 368.432 million rubles. Smolenskenergo’s specialists executed 3,342 grid connection contracts of this category.

The largest investment projects implemented in 2017 were upgrades of the 110/6 kV substations "Central" and "Chernushki" with installation of compensation devices for capacitive ground fault currents. In addition, the important areas of investment activity are the grid connection of consumers and the comprehensive bringing of ROWs to the normative state.

Also, grid infrastructure was reconstructed to provide power supply for residential houses and facilities under construction, agricultural enterprises, socially important facilities.

The investment program is implemented to provide reliable and high-quality power supply to consumers in the region, improve energy efficiency while reducing energy losses and decreasing operating costs. In addition, funds are used to increase the availability of energy infrastructure for the robust social and economic development of the Smolensk region.
