Voronezh schoolchildren took part in the first stage of the All-Russian Olympiad of PJSC "Rosseti"

Last weekend in Voronezh, the first stage of the All-Russian Olympiad of schoolchildren of PJSC Rosseti was held. The organizer of the regional stage of the Olympiad was IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo division, with the support of the Education Department of the Voronezh region, the International Institute of Computer Technologies and the Voronezh Technical College of Building Technologies. The Voronezh Institute for the Development of Education became the venue for the event. For 2 days more than 30 pupils of the 9th and 10th grades of schools from the Voronezh region solved problems in physics, computer science and mathematics.

One of the main tasks of the Olympiad of PJSC Rosseti is the identification of talented schoolchildren, who are capable of technical creativity and innovative thinking, planning their professional activities in the electric power industry, and involving them in the development of advanced infrastructure and technology projects relevant to the power grid complex of the Russian Federation.

"Holding such Olympiads is necessary not only for pupils, who can try their hand at solving problems that require a deeper knowledge of school subjects. Such events are important for us, both for employers, as we can assess the level of training of young people, who may later become our employees. Of course, for schoolchildren and their parents, we answer all questions concerning the energy profession, which gives them an opportunity to evaluate all the advantages and make the right choices for the future," said the head of the HR department of IDGC of Centre - Voronezhenergo division Evgeny Novikov.

Winners of the regional stage of the Olympiad will be identified after its second and final stage, which will be held on 21 April 2018. In the course of it, schoolchildren will apply the existing knowledge in mathematics, physics and computer science while solving applied problems in the field of electric power industry.

The ceremony of awarding winners and prize-winners of the All-Russian Olympiad "Rosseti" will be held in Moscow.
