The economic effect of the implementation of Smolenskenergo’s energy saving and energy efficiency program in 2017 amounted to 9.12 million rubles

21.03.2018

The total economic effect from the implementation in 2017 of the energy saving and energy efficiency program at IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division was 3.9 million kWh or 9.12 million rubles. During the implementation of the program, technical and organizational measures were taken to reduce electric energy losses during transmission and optimize the consumption of power resources for needs of substations and household needs of buildings and structures of the branch.

Technical measures include replacement of wires for a larger cross-section on overloaded power lines, replacement of uninsulated wire with self-supporting insulated wire (SIW) at places of the largest power losses, replacement of overloaded and underloaded transformers, and use of energy-saving transformers. Among the organizational arrangements, the following can be noted: switching off transformers in low load modes in substations with two transformers and transformers with seasonal load, equalization of phase loads in distribution networks of 0.38 kV and redistribution of the main grid load by switching. The effect from the implementation of the technical measures of the energy saving and energy efficiency program in 2017 amounted to 0.259 million kWh, organizational - 2.291 million kWh.

An important direction of the energy saving and energy efficiency program is the development of an automated system for electricity control and metering (AMR). In 2017, the effect from the implementation of the modernization program of metering systems was 1.322 million kWh.

In addition to the task of reducing electric energy losses, the energy saving and energy efficiency program includes measures to optimize the consumption of energy resources for the needs of substations and household needs of the buildings and structures of the branch. The electricity consumption for the substations’ own needs in 2017 was reduced by 1.075 million kWh, compared to 2016, due to the optimization of the temperature mode in substation control houses and closed switchgears. The consumption of fuel and energy resources for the administrative and economic needs of the branch in the period under review was also reduced by 373.5 tons of fuel equivalent in relation to 2016. The measures completed in 2017, aimed at saving fuel and water for household needs, are replacement of lamps in lighting fixture with LEDs in the amount of 600 pcs. (the effect amounted to 43.54 thousand kWh), monitoring the duration of the heating period of the Distribution Zone bases, monthly monitoring of limits for the consumption of fuel and water resources.
