IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division has completed the preparation for the passage of the flood period. To ensure reliable operation of the power grid in the region during the spring high water, the company’s specialists performed a total of more than 40 activities. They were supervised by the flood commission under the direction of First Deputy Director - Chief Engineer of Tambovenergo Igor Polyakov.
The list of facilities located in high-risk areas during the spring flood has been determined by energy specialists for the implementation of flood control measures. Emergency stock of materials and equipment, reserve sources of power supply, mobile pumps, water crafts, special equipment and mechanisms, operating and reserve communication channels and alert have been prepared. Inspections of transitions of overhead power lines through rivers have been conducted. In the floodplains of the rivers near piers, which are subject to flooding and erosion, sticks for measuring the maximum water level have been renewed or additionally installed, the protection of pole bases from ice drift has been checked. Schemes of delivery to the expected flood zones of equipment, materials and vehicles in the event of liquidation of possible damage to the equipment of substations and overhead power lines have been determined.
To get timely forecasts of the flood situation in the region Tambovenergo has been established effective interaction with the hydrometeorological service, local and regional authorities and the General Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia for the Tambov region.
