A meeting of the Council of Veterans of the enterprise was held at IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division, where the results of the organization’s work for the past year were summed up. The event was attended by the head of the HR department of Kurskenergo Lyudmila Mokrousova, the chairman of the company’s trade union Nikolay Kalinin, the chairman of the regional committee of Electroprofsoyuz Gennady Demekhin, members of the Council of Veterans and its authorized representatives in Distribution Zones.
As the chairman of the Council of Veterans Valentin Shkilev noted in the report, in 2017 the organization did a great job, all the activities planned for this period were fulfilled.
One of the most important activities of the Council is the social support of veterans of the enterprise. Last year, 43 veterans with poor health received financial assistance for the purchase of expensive drugs, 10 veterans were compensated for the cost of sanatorium-resort vouchers. Members of the Council of Veterans congratulated at home anniversary celebrants, handed them food sets. In particular, congratulations were received by the participants of the Great Patriotic War Maria Y. Tkachenko, Ivan V. Krivkin, Sergey S. Gurbich, Ivan I. Chernyshev and Nikolay V. Nikolaev.
The members of the Council actively participated in actions of patriotic and social focus, festive events. Together with the Youth Council, they put in order graves of soldiers, helped widows of those killed with repair of housing facilities, plowing vegetable gardens, harvesting.
Activists of the Council of Veterans regularly visited the training centre of operating personnel of Kurskenergo, where they spoke to young specialists raising their qualifications, shared their experience with students of the construction crew "Energetik". The purpose of such meetings is the preservation of traditions, the professional guidance of the youth, the popularization of the power engineering profession.
The experience of the Council of Veterans of Kurskenergo interested representatives of other veteran organizations of the region. In August 2017, the branch hosted a meeting of veterans of the enterprise with active participants of the regional organization of veterans of war, labour, the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies. The participants shared their experience, discussed the issues that arise with retirees. The chairman of the regional veteran organization, Valery Sundukov, recommended that his activists should take into account the experience of the participation of power engineers in the professional development and patriotic education of the youth.
Summing up the meeting, the members of the Council of Veterans and authorized representatives of the public organization in the Distribution Zones positively assessed the work of the Council in 2017. They thanked the leadership of Kurskenergo and the trade union committee for supporting its initiatives and helping them implement them.
The main activities of Kurskenergo’s Veterans Council for the current year are related to the preparation for the 60th anniversary of Kurskenergo and the 73rd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. And, of course, the organization will continue to take care of veterans of the enterprise, who need help, to take an active part in the life of the team of power engineers.
