Governor of the Smolensk region thanked power engineers for professional actions in eliminating consequences of bad weather

Governor of the Smolensk region Alexey Ostrovsky sent a letter of thanks addressed to the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak. The letter expresses gratitude to the power engineers of IDGC of Centre for highly professional actions to isolate emergency areas, prompt elimination of identified failures, as well as rational use of standby power supply sources, which allowed to minimize the negative consequences of power line outages for consumers in the Smolensk region. The professional work of General Director of IDGC of Centre Oleg Isaev was separately noted.

Please, be reminded that in the Smolensk region in the period from 3 to 5 February 2018 extremely unfavourable weather conditions developed (heavy snowfalls, snowstorms, wind gusts up to 15-20 m/s). These circumstances could lead to massive interruptions in the electricity supply to consumers, but this was avoided thanks to the prompt actions of IDGC of Centre’s power engineers.
