Kurskenergo conducts career-guidance work among students

Students of the third year of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation visited IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division. They toured the Kursk Region Energy History Museum and the Grid Control Centre (GCC).

In the Museum the young people were introduced to the history of the formation and development of the power grid complex of the region, told about the leaders and honoured workers of the Kursk power system, demonstrated by means of an interactive map the phased electrification of settlements of the Kursk region. In the GCC the students saw modern equipment, through which operating staff monitors operation of power facilities in real time, receives data necessary for rapid decision-making in abnormal situations.

At the end of the tour, the participants thanked the power engineers for an interesting and rich program. "Such events are very useful. They allow the young people to get acquainted with the history of the region’s energy industry, which is rich in traditions, its present day, people who created the power grid complex of Kurskenergo," stressed Olga Pokramovich, Assistant Professor at the Department of Management and Information Technologies.

Kurskenergo conducts large career-guidance work with the younger generation. Regular sightseeing tours are one of its important components. This year more than 400 schoolchildren and students of educational institutions of the region will visit facilities of the branch.
