Tambovenergo successfully fights losses in grids

16.02.2018

IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division summed up the results of the implementation of measures to reduce energy losses for 2017. The actual level of losses for the year amounted to 6.83% of the total volume of electricity supply to the grid, which is 0.6% lower than the target figure. The volume of savings amounted to 18.6 million kWh or 52.8 million rubles.

A powerful effect was given by raids to curb non-metered and non-contractual consumption. From January to December 2017, 37 acts of non-contractual consumption were paid by unscrupulous consumers for a total of about 4.2 million rubles and 987 acts of non-metered consumption included in the volume of electricity transmission in the amount of 111.3 million rubles (including for previous periods). With the remaining offenders, the debt will be collected forcibly, in court, with the imposition of all court costs on the perpetrators.

Also, the decrease in losses was facilitated by the replacement of metering devices that failed or were found to be unfit for billing. Other organizational and technical measures were also carried out. Including - replacement of overloaded and underloaded transformers, replacement of wires for a larger cross-section on overloaded power lines and uninsulated wire for self-supporting insulated wire in places of the largest power losses. Also, transformers were switched off in low load modes in substations with two transformers, transformers with seasonal load and equalization of phase loads in distribution networks of 0.38 kV.

Effective implementation by Tambovenergo of the measures to reduce losses contributes to improving the efficiency of the power grid complex, quality and reliability of power supply to consumers in the Tambov region. The funds saved as a result of their implementation are spent by the enterprise, among other things, on the development of the electric grid infrastructure of the region.
