In 2017, IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division continued to implement the branch’s environmental policy, carrying out a set of measures to protect the environment, ensure environmental safety at production facilities and rational use of natural resources. In the Year of Ecology, 4,408.59 thousand rubles were allocated for the implementation of these measures.
The main tasks in the implementation of environmental programs of Smolenskenergo during this period were: organization of primary accounting of waste generation; organization of timely delivery for recycling of waste generated during repair, operation and reconstruction of power grids; strengthening of control over conditions of temporary accumulation of wastes of hazard classes I - V; carrying out industrial environmental control over compliance with established standards; acquisition of demercurization kits; implementation of environmental inspections in structural units.
Of the funds planned for environmental activities, the most significant activities were performed as follows: 1,243.4 thousand rubles to receive and treat wastewater, 975,99 thousand rubles to give solid utility waste, 121,700 rubles to develop a project for maximum permissible emissions, 337.96 thousand rubles to develop sites for accumulation of waste. In addition, work was carried out on the repair of oil receiving devices of transformers, repair of oil switches, replacement of bare wire with self-supporting insulated wire (SIW).
In addition, the branch continued installation of bird protection devices to prevent the death of birds from electric shock and reduce the number of technological violations in electric grids. Also, the branch constantly monitors electrical installations to ensure that animals cannot enter them.
To improve the skills of personnel in the field of environmental protection, 29 employees of Smolenskenergo received training on the topic "Handling hazardous wastes".
IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division places high demands on the environmental aspects of production activities. The energy company will continue to implement in 2018 a plan of measures to reduce the negative impact on the environment and develop an environmental management system.
