13.02.2018

IDGC of Centre - Kurskenergo division summed up the results of activities in the sphere of environmental safety in 2017, announced in Russia as the Year of Ecology. To implement the "Program for Implementation of Environmental Policy", which includes more than 30 events, the energy company spent about three million rubles in this period.

Much attention was paid to work to reduce the harmful impact on the environment of production and consumption wastes, protection of atmospheric air and water resources. The waste materials were regularly given for disposal to specialized enterprises. Work was carried out to improve and beautify the repair and production bases of 30 Distribution Zones and adjacent territories.

As part of measures to improve the environmental safety of power facilities, scheduled repairs and replacement of oil receivers of transformers, drainage devices and oil-filled equipment were carried out. Projects for maximum permissible emissions were developed for 20 production sites.

In accordance with the schedule, measures were taken to analyze the impact of energy facilities on the environment and instrumental measurements of emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere were performed. Their results, confirmed by laboratory tests, showed that the existing standards for maximum permissible emissions of pollutants were not exceeded.

In addition, in 2017, the energy company reconstructed 83.8 km of 10-0.4 kV overhead lines with replacement of uninsulated wire with self-supporting insulated one, which makes it possible to increase the reliability of electricity supply and completely eliminate the death of birds in their nesting places, habitats. With the same purpose, the branch’s staff installed 400 bird protection devices.

Successfully implementing a set of environmental measures, Kurskenergo helps reduce the negative impact of production processes on the environment and increase the level of environmental safety in the Kursk region.
