IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division summed up the work on prevention of children’s electric injuries in 2017. The power company conducts it systematically, in active cooperation with regional and local authorities and specialized agencies.
One of the important components of preventive work is electrical safety classes for children and adolescents, which took place throughout the year in all districts of the Tambov region. In total, more than 70 such classes were organized. They were held in educational and children’s pre-school institutions, and during summer vacations - in health camps. At the same time, before the holidays, during which children often spend a lot of time without adult supervision, the preventive work in schools and kindergartens was intensified.
Specialists of Tambovenergo told schoolchildren about the basic rules of electrical safety and the importance of warning signs installed on electrical equipment, demonstrated methods of providing first aid to the victim with electric shock. To consolidate this knowledge, the children were helped by thematic videos, as well as contests and quizzes. At the end of the lessons, participants were given specialized brochures and posters.
Part of the activities was conducted jointly with the relevant departments of the region. Thus, employees of Tambovenergo together with representatives of the regional department of the EMERCOM of Russia and the regional branch of the All-Russian Voluntary Fire Society held the Safety Day in the rehabilitation centre for children and adolescents with disabilities "Rosinka", in which 150 children aged from 7 to 14 years took part.
A total of 11,500 children and adolescents participated in the classes organized by Tambovenergo in the region. In 2018, the power company continues its active preventive work with the younger generation.
