Power engineers conducted a raid to identify non-metered and non-contractual electricity consumption in Gryazinsky district

Power engineers of IDGC of Centre - Lipetskenergo division conducted a large-scale raid to prevent theft of electricity in Gryazinsky district.

The specialists checked electricity meters at a number of legal entities and residential customers, and held preventive talks about the need to comply with the electrical safety rules.

In December, during the raids, 11 facts of unauthorized connection to electric grids and interference in the operation of electricity meters were identified. As a result of the work, 9 acts of non-metered consumption of electric power in relation to legal entities and 2 acts against residential customers were compiled.

In the course of the check, five facts of the theft of electricity were revealed with modified meters, the so-called "charged meters". For all the acts, the amount of non-metered electricity consumption was calculated in accordance with the established norms of the Law, the results were transferred to OJSC "LESK" for billing purposes. The total amount of non-metered electricity for 9 acts pertaining to legal entities amounted to more than 170 thousand kWh or more than 700 thousand rubles.

In total, in Gryazinsky district, since the beginning of 2017, 191 cases of theft of electricity were detected within electricity consumers’ check, the damage to the power company was 2.6 million kWh or 5 million rubles.

"The conduct of raids is an integral measure of the company’s program to reduce energy losses in grids. In combination with other organizational and technical measures, it provides reliable uninterrupted power supply to good consumers and improves the quality of electricity," said Vadim Negrobov, the head of the electricity metering department of Lipetskenergo.

"Lipetskenergo" aims to increase the reliability and quality of electricity for good consumers, which is why the work to reduce commercial losses will be enhanced.
