IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division summed up the results of the annual regional contest "Energy of Belgorod in the Mirror of Mass Media - 2017". This year, winners and prize-winners were 11 regional mass media, writing on the topic of energy. Awards were presented to editors and journalists by Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division director Sergey Demidov, Chairman of the Regional Union of Journalists Oleg Razmoskin and Chairman of the Primary Trade Union of the branch Anatoly Androsovich.
The contest was established in 2001 with the support of the Belgorod Region Union of Journalists. Since that time, dozens of regional and district media and professional journalists have demonstrated their interest and high level of professionalism in covering energy issues every year. This year, about 600 editorial materials about energy workers and tasks that stand before the energy industry of today were submitted for the competition.
One of such tasks is active struggle of power engineers with non-contractual and non-metered consumption of electricity. Sergey Demidov thanked the media for help in solving the problem: "Our joint work, aimed at countering theft, gave a good result. This year, media representatives took part in eight raids, during which 10 facts of illegal interference in electricity supply systems were found worth about 1.5 million rubles, and thanks to the coverage of events in the media, the problem received a wide public response."
A correspondent of State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company "Belgorod" Alexander Loktionov, a cameraman Maxim Khavalkin and a journalist of the newspaper "Belgorodskie Izvestia" Irina Dudka, who became practically unchanged participants in the organized raids, were distinguished with diplomas of the first degree in the nomination for the best report on the theft of electricity.
In the nomination "Energy - the business of life" the first-degree diploma was awarded to the newspaper of the Belgorod region "Znamya", which prepared the maximum number of publications about workers of Belgorodsky Distribution Zone. The newspaper "Valuiskaya Zvezda" (nomination "Energy without Borders"), "Labour Banner" ("Social Energy") and "Flame" (nomination "Energy of the native land") are also among the winners.
A special diploma for prevention of children’s electric injuries was awarded to the editorial board of the regional magazine for children and adolescents "Big Break", for the coverage of social activities - the regional trade union newspaper "Edinstvo", for the creative approach - the online edition of the city information portals Oskol.City and Gubkin.City. long-term conscientious work of a journalist of the newspaper "Valuiskaya Zvezda" Nina Govoruschenko and the executive secretary of the Union of Journalists Tamara Kirpileva were marked with diplomas of honour.
