IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division continues to work to popularize the energy profession. During the beginning of the academic year, Smolenskenergo’s staff of the HR department conducted lectures for vocational guidance for secondary school pupils and students of secondary professional educational institutions.
As part of the work plan for professional guidance, the HR specialists tried to cover as many areas of the region as possible to tell school leavers and students of specialized colleges and technical schools about the energy profession. These events aroused great interest among students of the Gagarinsky Multidisciplinary College, Desnogorsk Energy College, Vyazemsky Polytechnic College, Vyazemsky Railway College, Roslavl Multidisciplinary College, Verkhnedneprovsky Technological College, as well as pupils of secondary schools in the town of Dorogobuzh, the settlement of Kardymovo, the small town of Red City, the town of Sychevka, the town of Yartsevo, the settlement of Novodugino.
The power engineers told about the activities of Smolenskenergo, where almost 3.5 thousand people work, who daily provide reliable electricity to the region’s consumers. The schoolchildren were acquainted with the conditions of the program for the purposeful admission and training of the energy profession in specialized secondary professional educational institutions of the city of Smolensk and the region and the branch of the State Educational Establishment "National Research University "MPEI" in the city of Smolensk on the basis of 11 grades. The students of technical schools and colleges were acquainted with the conditions of training under the "Scholarship" program, told about the passing of the production practice and the possibility of further employment upon finishing the school. All the students took interest in the proposed topic and asked questions about the specifics of professions in the electric power industry.
IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division pays great attention to conducting purposeful career guidance work among young people and schoolchildren. Only in the 2017-2018 academic year 27 full-time students are scholarship holders of IDGC of Centre and receive a corporate scholarship. In accordance with concluded contracts, all of them after the graduation will come to work at the grid company.
