Smolensk power engineers came to schools of the region on the eve of holidays

16.11.2017

On the eve of the autumn holidays, specialists of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division within the "electrical safety week" reminded schoolchildren in the Smolensk region of the basic rules of safe conduct in the street and in premises and precautions when they are near power facilities and when using electrical appliances. The lessons were held in schools of Dukhovschinsky, Ershichsky, Pochinkovsky, Velizhsky, Sychevsky, Yartsevsky, Dorogobuzhsky districts of the Smolensk region and schools in the city of Smolensk. Thus, several hundred schoolchildren were able to repeat the rules of electrical safety.

The power engineers told junior schoolchildren about electricity, and how it gets into our homes, how dangerous games with it are. The children answered questions about the rules for safe handling of domestic electrical appliances, gave examples, showed knowledge of the rules of conduct near power facilities in the street and actions during thunderstorms and firing of electrical equipment. The power engineers demonstrated to schoolchildren in the middle classes personal protective equipment for the company’s employees, which they were able to try on. During quizzes the schoolchildren showed their knowledge about warning signs, about the rules for operation of electrical appliances.

As a rule, lessons are held for younger and middle-aged schoolchildren, but it is useful for high-school schoolchildren to remind again, for example, of the danger of selfie near power facilities and illegal penetration into premises of energy facilities, what is done by the power engineers in forms 8-11.

As incentive prizes, the children received thematic colouring books, bookmarks, stickers in the diary or schedule of lessons developed by IDGC of Centre.

The power engineers have conducted electrical safety classes continuously for many years.
