Smolenskenergo's power engineers put on high alert because of bad weather

Due to unfavourable weather conditions in the Smolensk region: deposition of wet snow on wires and trees, occasional sleet, from 08:30 a.m. on 14 November 2017 IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division introduced a high alert operation mode. The branch strengthened control over the functioning of equipment and the working efficiency of energy facilities.

In total, 259 crews are ready for prompt response in the branch, consisting of 937 people, equipped with necessary tools, devices, overalls and prepared for round-the-clock work in any conditions. At their disposal there are also 348 vehicles and backup sources of electricity, which can be used to supply electricity to consumers.

In connection with the forecast unfavourable weather conditions, Smolenskenergo asks residents of the region to observe safety rules. Be careful: if you find a broken wire, do not approach it closer than 8-10 metres, and report a fault to the nearest Distribution Zone.
