Smolenskenergo’s electric grid operates in the regular mode

On the morning of 14 November 2017, due to unfavourable weather conditions in the Smolensk region, power engineers of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division were put on high alert. Due to deposition of wet snow on wires and trees, local power supply interruptions occurred in several settlements. Repair crews of the branch in the shortest possible time organized work to restore electricity in all districts of the Smolensk region. This was achieved thanks to the professional and operational work of the crews of the branch and coordinated actions of technical specialists.

As reported by Smolenskenergo’s Grid Control Centre, as of 12-30 p.m. 14 November 2017, due to the improvement of the operational situation, the high alert mode was cancelled. "The power engineers removed promptly single technological violations in the distribution network of 0.4-10 kV. In eliminating the effects of the bad weather, 28 crews were employed in the number of 111 people and 35 vehicles. To supply socially significant facilities, reserve power supply sources were available for use," commented Sahib Bruno, Deputy Chief Engineer for Operational and Technological and Situational Management, Head of Smolenskenergo’s Grid Control Centre.

Currently, Smolenskenergo’s technical services are completing checking the reliability of the equipment, and continue to work on individual customer requests.
