IDGC of Centre continues work on grid connection of high-speed highway M-11 facilities

09.11.2017

A total of 16 kilometres of 10 kV power lines will be constructed by specialists of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division in 2017 to meet the needs of the M-11 Moscow-Saint Petersburg high-speed highway.

The new power lines will connect power centres of the Tver branch of IDGC of Centre and power installations of the high-speed federal highway M-11 in Bologovsky, Torzhoksky and Kalininsky districts of the Tver region. Of the planned scope of work, 12 kilometres of overhead and 2 km of cable lines have already been constructed by now. Also, to improve the reliability of electricity supply, 7 km of overhead power lines have been reconstructed. It is worth noting that the power lines pass through complex routes, full of marshy areas and crossings over the river.

"The new high-speed automobile road is a facility of federal importance, therefore it is one of the priority projects in the investment program of the Tver branch of IDGC of Centre, responsible for high-quality and reliable power supply of the Upper Volga Region," explained Vadim Yurchenko, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division director. "Over two previous years, for the needs of M-11, the power engineers of the branch constructed 10 and 6 kV overhead lines with a total length of 66 km, as well as 6 and 10 kV cable lines with a total length of more than 22 km," the head added.
