Hotline of power engineering specialists:
Fruitful cooperation between IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division and the branch of National Research University MPEI in Smolensk has been going on for many years, because the institute is one of the basic educational institutions for training specialists not only for the Smolensk branch, but also for IDGC of Centre as a whole. For 9 months of 2017, at NRU "MPEI" in the city of Smolensk about 70 people from among leaders and specialists upgraded their skills under various programs. In addition, employees of Smolenskenergo to receive a specialized electric power education are trained in the correspondence department under the program "Power supply", and also have professional retraining in the direction "Electric power systems and grids".
IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division, being interested in managers and specialists with a high level of training, conducts systematic work to attract the most worthy, talented and motivated graduates of the university as the company’s employees, replenishes its personnel reserve with graduates. Interaction with the institute takes place not only in matters of training, retraining and advanced training of personnel. IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division constantly organizes production and pre-graduation practice for university students, during which future energy specialists get acquainted with the main activities of Smolenskenergo, prospects for development, social guarantees, energy equipment, labour protection rules. Such practices, as a rule, take place on the site of various Distribution Zones, as well as in the office of grid connections, office of distribution grids, office of information technologies and other structural subdivisions of the branch. Leading specialists and heads of relevant departments are appointed as leaders of production and pre-diploma practice. In 2017, 89 full-time students went through various types of practice at Smolenskenergo. Tours, open doors days and career guidance seminars were also organized during the year for the future power engineers.
Meetings of the management of the power company, representatives of NRU MPEI in Smolensk and children of employees of the branch, who expressed their desire to become students of Moscow Power Engineering Institute, became traditional. At the event, school graduates get acquainted not only with the rules of admission to the university, they receive more detailed information about their specialties, for which students are trained (currently "Electric power systems and grids" and "Power supply", "Electromechanics", "Electric drive and automation of industrial installations and technological complexes"), but also learn a lot of interesting information about the power engineering profession. As a result of such meetings, several children of employees make decisions every year to enter MPEI. In 2017, 4 entrants from various districts of the region entered the specialties within the framework of the targeted admission.
In the academic year of 2017-2018, 15 full-time students are grant-aided students of IDGC of Centre and receive a corporate scholarship. In accordance with the concluded agreement all of them after the graduation will come to work at the grid company.
In 2017, 11 graduates of the university were recruited for permanent work in various structural subdivisions of the branch.
