The Smolensk branch spent about 2.6 million rubles on the implementation of measures of the environmental policy of IDGC of Centre for 9 months of 2017. The main tasks in the implementation of environmental programs of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division during this period were: organization of primary recording of waste generation; organization of timely delivery for recycling of waste generated during repair, operation and reconstruction of power grids; strengthening of control over conditions of temporary accumulation of spent mercury lamps, control of marking of containers for accumulation of wastes of hazard classes I - V; bringing soil contamination sites into compliance; acquisition of demercurization kits; implementation of environmental inspections in structural units.
Of the sum invested for environmental activities, the most significant spending was made as follows: 940 thousand rubles for reception and treatment of sewage, 700 thousand rubles for delivery of solid household waste, 109.2 thousand rubles for development of the draft maximum permissible emissions, 337 thousand rubles for development of sites for accumulation of waste.
Also for 9 months of 2017 work was carried out on arrangement of sites for accumulation of waste, repair of oil receiving devices of transformers, repair of oil circuit breakers, use of insulated wire on 0.4-10 kV overhead lines. In addition, the branch held an event for protection of wildlife - bird scaring devices were installed.
To improve skills of personnel in the field of environmental protection, 29 employees of Smolenskenergo had training on the topic "Handling hazardous wastes". Upon completion of the training, they were issued with certificates for the right to work with hazardous waste.
IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division sets high requirements to the environmental aspects of production activities, which is especially important in the framework of the Year of Ecology announced in Russia.
