Belgorod power engineers held a training seminar on electrical safety for policemen

27.10.2017

Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Belgorodenergo division held another training seminar on prevention of electric injuries. More than 20 district commissioners and inspectors on affairs of minors of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the city of Gubkin participated in the event.

The law enforcement officers were demonstrated statistics of electric injuries of third parties at power facilities of the power grid complex of the Russian Federation, introduced to the nature of the most typical fatal accidents and serious health consequences recorded in a number of regions of the country.

"The cause of death is most often illiteracy, imprudence or greed," stressed Elena Bezborodova, the leading engineer of the production safety and industrial control department at Belgorodenergo. "Socially unreliable categories of citizens, difficult teenagers, fishermen, drivers of cranes, dump trucks, large-scale agricultural machinery are at risk. All of them, under certain circumstances, can get under the influence of electric current and replenish sad statistics."

The power engineers paid special attention to the inadmissibility of carrying out loading and unloading, construction and any other works connected with storage of materials and development of soil near power lines. This can lead to sad consequences.

In case of getting into the zone of "step voltage" it is necessary to remember that you can leave it only by "goose step", without taking your feet from the ground, consistently putting the heel of one leg to the toe of the other. A driver of heavy-duty special machinery, who suddenly found himself in the electric shock zone, to save his life should not leave the cabin and immediately contact power engineering specialists by calling the direct line of IDGC of Centre at 13-50 to de-energize the grid.

Children should be regularly reminded about the correct choice of places for games - away from power lines and substations. Selfie shooting near power equipment, penetration into premises of power facilities, launching kites and radio-controlled toys in the guard zone and other pranks lead to the sad consequences.

According to Alexander Krivosheev, the head of the division of district commissioners and the Minors Affairs Department of the Department of Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for Gubkin, the conversation proved to be useful and informative: "The police are among the first to travel to incidents, including those connected with the wire breakage, the fall of trees, so it is very important to know how to protect themselves and surrounding people, to warn them against electric injuries."
