Smolenskenergo confirmed its readiness to work in the conditions of the autumn-winter maximum of loads

IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division received its Certificate of readiness for work in the autumn-winter period of 2017-2018. This document confirms that the power engineers performed all the basic measures for the preparation of electric grids to ensure reliable power supply to consumers during peak loads.

The Commission for assessment of readiness for work in the autumn-winter period of 2017/2018, which included representatives of IDGC of Centre, the Administration of the Smolensk region, regional offices of Rostekhnadzor and EMERCOM of Russia, DEETPA, Smolensk Regional Dispatch Office confirmed the fulfillment of the basic and additional conditions of readiness for work in the autumn-winter period.

As part of the preparations for the autumn-winter period Smolenskenergo performed a large amount of the repair program: 4 substations of 35-110 kV were comprehensively repaired, 697 transformer substations of 6-10/0.4 kV, 2,152.097 km of 0.4-110 kV power lines were repaired, 1,377.09 hectares of ROWs along 6-110 kV overhead lines were cleared, 560 hectares of ROWs along 6-110 kV overhead lines were extended. In addition, a set of measures included not only technical but also staff training activities - employees of the branch are fully provided with winter clothing and special footwear, as well as all necessary equipment and personal protective gear, emergency drills were conducted to work out actions in response to emergencies in low temperature conditions.

The high-quality and timely implementation of all planned works for the preparation for the autumn-winter period is the key to successfully meet the challenges of ensuring stable operation of the region’s electric grid complex during the maximum of winter loads.
