Kostromaenergo is ready for the autumn-winter maximum of loads

IDGC of Centre – Kostromaenergo division held a meeting of the interdepartmental commission for assessing the enterprise’s readiness for the autumn-winter operation period. Based on the results, the chairman of the commission - the head of the relay protection and automation department of IDGC of Centre Alexander Zamotay presented the Certificate of readiness for work in the 2017-2018 autumn-winter period to Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Kostromaenergo division director Evgeny Smirnov, the document confirming its readiness to operate during the autumn-winter peak of loads.

The commission, which included representatives of IDGC of Centre, a branch of PJSC "Rosseti" - "Centre for Technical Supervision", a branch of JSC "SO UES" Kostroma Regional Dispatch Office, the Department of Fuel and Energy Complex and Housing of the Kostroma Region, the Department of State Energy Supervision for Yaroslavl and Kostroma Region of the Central Administration of Rostekhnadzor and the General Directorate of the EMERCOM of Russia for the Kostroma Region, evaluated the results of the measures taken in Kostromaenergo to improve the reliability of electric grids and power equipment during low temperatures. The members of the commission unanimously decided on the readiness of the enterprise for the operation through the winter.

In the course of preparation for the autumn-winter period, specialists of Kostromaenergo carried out a large amount of work within the framework of the implementation of repair and investment programs, modernization and enhancement of the reliability of operation of electrical equipment. Major overhaul of 23 substations of 35-110 kV, about 115 kilometres of power lines of 0.4-110 kV, 597 transformer substations of 6-10/0.4 kV was performed. To prevent emergency situations associated with the fall of trees on wires, 1,672.2 hectares of ROWs of 0.4-110 kV overhead power lines were cleared from tree and shrub vegetation.

The branch held 15 trainings of operating personnel for working out of actions under emergency restrictions of a mode of consumption of electric power in the conditions of sharp decrease in temperature of ambient air. The emergency stock is 100% complete. Means of communication, dispatching technological control systems, systems of uninterruptible power supply of the executive office are in good order and are ready for operation under the conditions of maximum loads. The availability to use 104 reserve power supply sources with a total capacity of 1.9 MW was tested.

8 mobile crews were formed consisting of 40 people, provided with specialized vehicles, means of protection and communication and are ready to eliminate emergencies, including in low temperatures. In total, 102 crews consisting of 507 people, 273 pieces of off-road and specialized vehicles can be simultaneously used to perform emergency recovery operations in Kostromaenergo.

"Getting the certificate of readiness for winter is not only a high appreciation of our work, but also a reminder of the enormous responsibility. We are going to do everything we can to ensure reliable electricity supply to our consumers during the autumn and winter period," stressed Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Kostromaenergo division director Evgeny Smirnov.
