Yaroslavl branch of IDGC of Centre is ready for seasonal maximum loads

06.10.2017

IDGC of Centre - Yarenergo division received its certificate of readiness for work in the autumn-winter period of 2017-2018.

The document confirming the readiness of Yaroslavl power engineers for seasonal maximum loads was handed over by Deputy Chief Engineer - Head of the Department of Production Safety and Industrial Control of IDGC of Centre Yury Ignatenko to Acting Director of Yarenergo Anton Gerasimov.

The receipt of the certificate of readiness was preceded by preparation of electric grid facilities of the branch, first of all, the implementation of the repair program. For the current year, the repair program of the branch includes overhauling more than 1,500 kilometres of 0.4-110 kV power lines, comprehensive repair of 22 substations of the main grid, 333 transformer substations.

To prevent failures caused by the fall of trees on power lines, the branch cleared about 1,200 hectares and expanded over 440 hectares of ROWs. An effective measure to improve the reliability of electricity supply was replacement of bare wire for self-supporting insulated wire of 0.4-10 kV overhead lines, completed by Yarenergo in the amount of 159.5 km.

Another important point in the implementation of stable electricity supply in the region, including in the peak load conditions that occur during the autumn-winter period, is the constant work of the Yaroslavl branch for modernization of power grid facilities. The investment program of the branch for 2017 includes the commissioning of 349.6 kilometres of 0.4-110 kV power lines, substations of the 35-110 kV main grid and transformer substations of 6-20/0.4 kV with a total capacity of 100.4 MVA.

Within the framework of the target program to improve reliability this year, the branch completed a set of construction, installation and commissioning works at 23 substations of 35-110kV: the 110/10/6kV Substation Yartsevo, 110/10kV Substation Lugovaya, 110/35/10kV Substation Abbakumtsevo, 110/6kV Substation Polygraphmash, 110/6kV Substation Veretye, 110/35/10 Substation Khaldeevo, 110/6kV Substation Orion, 35/10kV Substation Mashpribor and others.

In the period of preparation for seasonal maximum loads the branch conducted trainings of first responding mobile and repair crews, interaction with communal services, territorial authorities, and the EMERCOM was worked out. In case of unscheduled repair of equipment, an emergency reserve of materials and equipment is restocked, which is stored at bases of Distribution Zones: a total of 1,191 items for 105 million rubles. A reserve of backup power sources with a total capacity of 3.893 MW is maintained in readiness for use. All backup power sources are also distributed among Distribution Zones to reduce the time for elimination of interrupted power supply.

In total, 152 crews are involved in the provision of reliable and high-quality power supply to consumers during the autumn-winter period in the branch "Yarenergo", including 6 mobile crews of high availability for carrying out emergency repair work at power grid facilities in the shortest possible time.

"In the Yaroslavl region there are uneasy climatic conditions, in winter such unfavourable weather phenomena as abundant snowfalls and icy rains, strong wind and sharp temperature changes are likely. Low air temperatures provoke an additional load on electrical networks, when consumers begin to switch on in large quantities electric heating appliances. We prepare the equipment, vehicles and personnel of the company very seriously to ensure reliable power supply in these difficult conditions," stressed Acting Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Yarenergo division director Anton Gerasimov.
