Kurskenergo successfully implements the energy saving program

22.09.2017

IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division pays much attention to the implementation of activities within the framework of the energy saving and energy efficiency program. This allows annually to reduce energy losses by more than 3 million kWh and decrease the consumption of fuel and energy resources spent on industrial and economic needs by more than 6%.

So, for 8 months of 2017 the total effect from the branch’s implementation of the program was 1,837.57 thousand kWh. Including 633.69 thousand kWh were saved due to technical measures: replacement of wires for a larger cross-section on overloaded power lines (10 (6), 0.4 kV), replacement of wires with self-supporting insulated wire (10 (6), 0.4 kV) and replacement of taps of overhead lines in residential buildings with self-supporting insulated wire.

1203.88 thousand kWh were saved due to organizational measures implemented within the program: disconnection of transformers in low load conditions for substations with two or more transformers and equalization of phase loads in distribution networks of 0.38 kV.

In addition, the consumption of electricity for household needs was reduced by 280,7 thousand kWh or 3.95% of the planned indicators. The branch is working to replace incandescent lamps with energy-saving LED. To date, 317 lamps have been replaced, the expected annual effect from this work will be 28.466 thousand kWh.

In addition, Kurskenergo implements activities aimed at promoting energy conservation among both employees and consumers. Annually, the energy company conducts more than 100 lessons on energy saving and electrical safety in general educational institutions of the Kursk region, takes an active part in the All-Russian Energy Saving Festival "Together Brighter", where it demonstrates energy-saving equipment used in the power grid complex of Kurskenergo, holds contests for children, thereby promoting an energy-saving lifestyle.
