22.09.2017

IDGC of Centre - Orelenergo division received its certificate of readiness for the autumn-winter period. The document was presented to the enterprise director Yury Volchenkov by Deputy Chief Engineer - Head of the Department of Production Safety and Production Control of IDGC of Centre Yury Ignatenko.

The level of readiness of Orelenergo to peak loads and the quality of work carried out by the branch at power facilities of the region was assessed by a commission with participation of representatives of IDGC of Centre, Prioksky Department of Rostekhnadzor, a branch of SO UES - Kursk Regional Dispatch Office, Orel Regional Administration and the regional department of the EMERCOM of Russia. All 24 Distribution Zones of Orelenergo, Grid Control Centre, services of relay protection, power lines, substations were tested. The activity of the enterprise was highly appreciated by the commission.

Priority directions of preparation of power engineers for the winter were the implementation of repair and investment programs. They were formed taking into account the analysis of failures at electric grid facilities of the region in previous periods. Orelenergo’s specialists repaired more than 272.6 km of overhead lines of 35-110 kV, over 378.1 km of 0.4-10 kV overhead lines; three substations were overhauled, element-wise repair of 53 substations of 35-110 kV was performed, overhaul of 72 package transformer substations was completed. To prevent violations of power supply caused by falling trees and shrubby vegetation on power lines, more than 640 hectares of ROWs were cleared and about 100 hectares of ROWs of overhead power lines were extended.

About 50 km of 0.4-10 kV power lines in Orelsky, Mtsensky, Uritsky, Sverdlovsky and Kromsky districts wwere reconstructed. The implementation of these activities will increase the stability of electric grids during the autumn-winter peak of loads, as well as in adverse weather conditions.

In order to ensure reliable and uninterrupted power supply to consumers during the cold weather, Orelenergo is fully equipped with an emergency stock of materials and equipment, backup power sources have been prepared, emergency mobile crews equipped with necessary means of collective and individual protection, specialized vehicles and transport have been formed.

"Orelenergo has made every effort to increase the stability of the electric grid complex of the region in the run-up to the autumn-winter period to unfavourable weather conditions. Thanks to the implementation of the repair and investment programs, we gradually increase the reliability of electrical equipment. Much work has been done in all districts of the Orel region, and many consumers will feel positive changes," stressed Yury Volchenkov, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre - Orelenergo division director.
