IDGC of Centre – Kostromaenergo division took part in the preparation and holding of the All-Russian Energy Saving Festival #VmesteYarche, which was held in Kostroma from 10 to 16 September.
The Energy Saving Festival "TogetherBrighter" is held in our country for the second time on the initiative of participants of the International Forum ENES-2015, supported by the Ministry of Energy of Russia, Rosmolodezh, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the state corporation "Fund for Assistance to Reforming the Housing and Communal Services", laureates of the Global Energy Prize and other youth and community organizations. The purpose of the event is to popularize the energy saving lifestyle and introduce modern technologies among the population.
Within the energy saving week from 10 to 15 September, specialists from Kostromaenergo conducted several energy saving lessons for pupils of grades 5-8 of Gymnasium No. 15 and School No. 5 in the city of Kostroma. In the classes the children were told how they could help their parents save energy. At the end of the lesson the schoolchildren played an energy-saving game in which the children could demonstrate all the knowledge they had gained.
In addition, for the eleventh-graders of Lyceum No. 20 in the city of Kostroma an excursion was made to the substation "Vostochnaya". There an engineer of the Kostroma section of the substation service, Alexander Ogarkov, told the young people how the electricity is transmitted to consumers, how long the emergency outage lasts, and how to save electricity in everyday life. The young people reacted vividly to the story of Alexander, asked many questions about electricity: where the buzz in the wires, how power engineers get to know about failures in the grid and much more.
On the final day of the festival, Kostromaenergo’s specialists took part in the "Boulevard of Energy-Efficient Technologies". There they presented interactive stands, with the help of which they told how meters were changed over the past 60 years, how to save up to 30% of electric energy, what lamps are better to use, and why. All participants of the Boulevard, as well as passers-by, studied the information stands with curiosity and asked specialists of Kostromaenergo questions.
IDGC of Centre – Kostromaenergo division actively supports projects related to the promotion of energy saving and energy efficiency.
Kostroma power engineers of IDGC of Centre conduct special work on popularization of energy saving lifestyle among schoolchildren and preschool children. On an ongoing basis, energy saving lessons are conducted at schools and health camps, where Kostromaenergo’s specialists explain to children that effective use of energy resources not only contributes to significant savings in money, but also helps extend the lifecycle of household appliances.
