Kurskenergo’s operating staff improves professional skills on the eve of the autumn-winter period

13.09.2017

A specialized training was held at IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division with the participation of operators of the Grid Control Centre (GCC) and Distribution Zones. The event was organized as part of the preparation of the region’s electricity grid for the autumn-winter operation period in order to test actions of operating personnel to introduce schedules for temporary cut-off of electricity consumption in low-temperature conditions.

According to the training scenario, in Lgovsky district the 110 kV "Tetkino-Glushkovo" overhead line was taken out of service to be repaired, simultaneously there were emergency outages of two 110 kV "Lgov-Marino" and 110 kV "Lgov-Rylsk" overhead lines with a tap line to the substation "Cheremoshki". These overhead lines are the main link in the transmission of electricity from the 110 kV "Lgov" substation to the 110 kV "Glushkovo" substation. As a result, the voltage at the 110 kV "Glushkovo" substation, one of the main feeding centres of the district, decreased below the minimum allowable level. There was a threat of de-energizing consumers.

Operators of the GCC reacted promptly to incoming information on technological violations and took necessary measures to eliminate them. To prevent the development of the emergency situation, it was decided to introduce a schedule for temporary disconnections of consumers on the territory of Glushkovsky district. The operating staff of Glushkovsky Distribution Zone prepared for putting into operation for emergency the 110 kV Overhead Line "Tetkino-Glushkovo". At the command of the operators of the GCC, the operating staff of Korenevsky and Glushkovsky Distribution Zones fulfilled the circuit-mode measures for unloading the transformer of the 110 kV substation "Glushkovo", after which the voltage level in the substation increased to an acceptable level. Immediately after that, the schedule of temporary disconnection of consumers was cancelled. Electricity supply of Glushkovsky district was restored in full.

The actions of the power engineers were observed by the commission led by the training head, the head of the operational and technological service of the GCC Roman Druchin, which included representatives of Kurskenergo and the branch of JSC "SO UES" "Regional Dispatch Office of the Kursk, Orel and Belgorod regions’ power systems". As a result of the training, the commission highly assessed the quality of its participants’ work, noting that the total time for the assignments to enter the schedules for temporary outages did not exceed one hour.

"Thanks to the clear implementation of the dispatch commands, professional and coordinated actions of the operating staff, all the planned training tasks have been successfully carried out," Roman Druchin stressed summing up.
